Putting Our Bulls to the Test... Literally!

Each year since 2010, we have selected our best herdsire prospects to compete against premier genetics from breeders throughout the Northeast.  This opportunity has allowed us to compare not only how our progress stands up to our breed of choice but to other breeds as well.  The Pennsylvania Livestock Evaluation Center hosts an annual test consisting of approximately 175 bulls per year consisting of primarily Angus, Hereford, Simmental, Red Angus and Sim Angus.  Only the top 50 percent of the bulls are offered for sale each year.  We receive valuable performance information pertaining to growth, feed efficiency and carcass characteristics that allows us to evaluate our breeding program.  We are a strong supporter of this test and over 50 of our bulls have completed the testing program.
